Veteran Online Military Exchange Shopping
Since Veterans Day 2017 (formalized by the Veterans Benefits and Transition Act of 2018), any honorably discharged veteran — not just disabled, Purple Heart, or former-POW veterans as under the initial 2017 rollout — can shop tax-free online at the military exchange websites run by each service. This is the same no-sales-tax pricing and exclusive product deals active-duty members get.
Who Qualifies
Active duty, Guard/Reserve, retirees, and any honorably discharged veteran. The benefit is online-only — it does not extend to in-store exchange or commissary access, and it is not transferable to spouses or dependents.
How to Verify
Free one-time registration through VetVerify.org, which checks your discharge status against VA records using an existing VA.gov login (ID.me, Login.gov, or DS Logon).
Exclusions
Alcohol, tobacco, and uniform items are typically excluded from the veteran benefit. Family members cannot shop under a veteran's account.
